Why an Ohio-based agent serves Indiana

Families do not stop at state lines. Many northwest Ohio families have parents, grown children or siblings in Indiana, and northeast Indiana is a short drive from northwest Ohio. Kris holds an Indiana insurance license so she can help those family members too. Plan options depend on where each person lives.

Indiana clients work with Kris by phone or video, which lets her share her screen and compare plans with you in real time. Plan options differ by county, so she always starts with your address. If you are visiting family in the Toledo area, you are welcome to stop by the Perrysburg office.

Medicare in Indiana

Indiana residents can choose Original Medicare, often with a Medicare Supplement and a Part D drug plan, or a Medicare Advantage plan. Networks and benefits vary by county. If your doctors belong to different health systems, check whether your doctors are in network before choosing an HMO. Networks can change each year.

The Annual Enrollment Period for 2027 coverage runs October 15 to December 7, 2026, with coverage starting January 1, 2027. For 2027, the Part D out-of-pocket cap is $2,400. Kris can compare plans using your exact prescription list so you can see how costs may change. Plans can change their drug lists every year.

Indiana Marketplace health coverage

Indiana uses HealthCare.gov. Open Enrollment for 2027 runs November 1, 2026 through January 15, 2027. Enroll by December 15 for January 1 coverage. If you enroll between December 16 and January 15, your coverage begins February 1. Losing job-based coverage or moving to Indiana may qualify you for a Special Enrollment Period outside these dates.

Because the enhanced premium tax credits expired after 2025, many Indiana households may see higher costs in 2027. Credits are generally available for incomes between about 100% and 400% of the federal poverty level. Kris can compare Marketplace plans and review your renewal. She is not a tax adviser. Above 400%, there is generally no credit.

Life insurance and final expense in Indiana

Kris helps Indiana families with term, whole and universal life insurance. Term life covers a set number of years with level premiums. Whole life lasts your lifetime and builds guaranteed cash value. Universal life offers flexible premiums and death benefits. Kris explains the trade-offs so you can choose what fits.

For older adults, final expense insurance can help cover a funeral and final bills. These small whole-life policies commonly range from $5,000 to $25,000 and are typically simplified issue. Kris can also discuss annuities and long-term care options. Medicare does not cover long-term custodial care, so planning ahead can help protect your savings.

Employee benefits for Indiana employers

Indiana small businesses, from family farms to factories and offices, can use benefits to attract and keep workers. Kris helps employers compare group health, dental, vision, life and disability coverage and explains it to employees clearly. Even a small team may have more options than you expect. Kris can review plans at renewal.

She also helps workers nearing 65 understand how their group plan works with Medicare. With 20 or more employees, the employer plan is usually primary. Visit the employee benefits page to learn more. Leaving employer coverage starts an eight-month Special Enrollment Period for Part B, and missing it may lead to a lifelong penalty.

How Kris works with clients in Indiana

Indiana meetings take place by phone or video at a time that suits you during weekday business hours. Have your Medicare card, a medication list and your doctors’ names handy.
