How to Get the Most From These Videos

Start with “Different Parts of Medicare” if you are new to the topic, then watch “Understanding Your Medicare Choices.” If you are still working past 65, “Deciding to Sign Up for Medicare Part B” covers one of the most common timing questions. Pause anytime, and turn on captions if that helps.

Keep a notepad handy. Jot down anything that applies to your situation, such as a doctor you want to keep or a medication you take. Bring those notes to your appointment, or send prescriptions ahead with the Rx drug lookup form. For quick reading, see the Medicare FAQs.

We do not offer every plan available in your area. Currently, we represent 14 organizations which offer 119 products in your area. FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Who makes these Medicare videos?

The videos are general educational pieces about how Medicare works. They are meant to help you learn the basics. They do not recommend a particular plan or company. After watching, Kris Kryder can explain how the information applies to you and compare plans available where you live.

Which Medicare video should I watch first?

If you are new to Medicare, start with “Different Parts of Medicare.” It explains Parts A, B, C and D, which makes the other videos easier to follow. Next, watch “Understanding Your Medicare Choices” to see how Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage differ. Then watch any others that fit your situation.

Should I sign up for Part B if I am still working?

It depends on your employer. If your employer has 20 or more employees and you have group coverage through active work, you can usually delay Part B without penalty. With a smaller employer, Medicare is typically primary and you generally need Part B. The Part B video covers this, and Kris can review your situation.

Does Medicare cover me when I travel outside the U.S.?

Original Medicare generally does not cover care outside the United States, except in rare cases. Some Medicare Supplement plans include foreign travel emergency coverage, and some Medicare Advantage plans offer limited coverage abroad. If you travel often, ask Kris about travel medical coverage. The “Traveling Abroad” video explains the basics.

Can watching videos replace a consultation?

Videos are a good way to learn the basics, but they cannot look at your doctors, prescriptions, budget or enrollment timing. A consultation with Kris is no-cost and no-obligation. She can take what you learned and apply it to the plans actually available in your county, so you can decide with confidence.

Where can I find more Medicare information online?

The official government site for people with Medicare is medicare.gov, and you can call 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227). For enrollment in Parts A and B, visit ssa.gov. Kryder Cares also collects helpful official links for you on the Medicare.gov resource links page.
