What Happens Next

Kris enters your medications into plan comparison tools and checks each plan’s formulary, drug tiers, pharmacy network and any coverage rules such as prior authorization. She will reach out to walk you through the results and point out plans that may lower your yearly drug costs.

Drug lists change every year, so it is wise to send an updated list before each Annual Enrollment Period. For 2027, the Part D out-of-pocket cap is $2,400. Learn more about Medicare Part D or compare your Medicare options.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What information do I need for a drug lookup?

Include each drug’s name, dosage, quantity per fill and how often you refill it, along with your preferred pharmacy and whether you use mail order. Your prescription bottles or a pharmacy printout have this information. Accurate details let Kris compare plans correctly, since costs can vary by dosage, quantity and pharmacy.

Why does my pharmacy matter for Part D costs?

Part D plans have pharmacy networks, and many have “preferred” pharmacies with lower copays. The same drug can cost different amounts depending on where you fill it. Mail order may also lower costs for maintenance drugs. Kris checks your pharmacy against each plan so your comparison reflects what you would actually pay.

What is a drug formulary?

A formulary is a plan’s list of covered drugs. Most plans sort drugs into tiers, and lower tiers generally cost less. Formularies can change each year, and a plan may add rules such as prior authorization or quantity limits. Kris checks each of your drugs against the formularies of plans in your area.

How often should I have my drugs reviewed?

At least once a year, before the Annual Enrollment Period from October 15 to December 7. Plans can change formularies, tiers and pharmacy networks each January. It is also a good idea to send an updated list whenever your doctor adds or changes a medication, since a different plan may cover it better.

Is my prescription information kept private?

Kris uses your medication list only to compare plans for you. Kryder Cares does not sell your information, and phone numbers and text messaging consent are not shared with third parties for marketing. Read the privacy policy for details. You can also share your list by phone if you prefer.

Does a drug lookup cost anything?

No. The Rx drug lookup is part of Kris’s no-cost, no-obligation service. You are not required to change plans or enroll in anything after reviewing the results. Many people use it each fall simply to confirm that their current plan still covers their medications well for the coming year.

What if my drug isn’t covered by my plan?

You have options. You or your prescriber can ask the plan for a coverage exception, or ask about a similar drug the plan does cover. During the Annual Enrollment Period, you can switch to a plan that covers your medication. Kris can help you find which plans in your area include it.
