Medicare Tools & Calculators

These Medicare tools give you quick estimates of late enrollment penalties, IRMAA income-related surcharges and your Initial Enrollment Period dates. Each uses figures published by CMS and Social Security for the year shown. Results are estimates, not quotes, so review them with Kris Kryder before making any enrollment decision.

Plan Ahead With Simple Calculators

Enter a few details and each tool explains the result in plain English. Start with the Medicare enrollment window tool if you are turning 65. If you delayed coverage, try the Part B penalty calculator or the Part D penalty calculator. Higher earners can estimate surcharges with the IRMAA calculator.

The tools do not collect or store your personal information. They are educational estimates, and official amounts come from Medicare and Social Security.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Are the Medicare calculator results exact?

No. The calculators give estimates, not quotes. They use published figures for the year shown and the information you enter. Your official penalty, premium or enrollment dates are determined by Medicare and Social Security based on your records. Kris can review your results and help you confirm the details.

Do the calculators save my information?

No. The calculators run in your web browser and do not ask for your name, Social Security number or Medicare number. Nothing you enter is stored or sent to Kryder Cares. If you want help interpreting a result, you can contact Kris directly and share only what you choose.

Which calculator should I use first?

If you are approaching 65, start with the Medicare enrollment window tool to see your Initial Enrollment Period. If you delayed Part B or Part D without other qualifying coverage, use the penalty calculators. If your income is higher, the IRMAA calculator estimates whether you may pay more for Part B and Part D.

How often are the calculator figures updated?

Medicare figures change each year. CMS publishes the Part B premium and deductible each fall, and the Part D base beneficiary premium in late summer. Each calculator shows the year of the figures it uses. When new amounts are announced, the tools are updated, and figures not yet announced are labeled.

Can the calculators tell me which plan to choose?

No. The tools focus on timing, penalties and income-related surcharges. Choosing a plan depends on your doctors, prescriptions, budget and health needs. Kris compares plans available in your county and explains the trade-offs in a no-cost, no-obligation consultation. Visit Medicare planning to learn more.

Is Kris a tax adviser for IRMAA questions?

No. Kris is a licensed insurance agent, not a tax or legal adviser. She can explain how IRMAA is applied to Medicare premiums and what the published thresholds are, but questions about your income, deductions or tax filings should go to a tax professional. The IRMAA calculator is an educational estimate only.
